Terms of Service

Critic Shelf lets you track, rate and review films and TV shows, keep a watchlist, and follow other people's shelves. This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. Catalogue data comes from TMDB and may be incomplete or inaccurate — we do not guarantee its accuracy.

You need an account to rate, review, or follow. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to this kind of service where you live, to create an account. By signing up you are confirming that is true.

Give us an accurate email address — it is how sign-up verification and password resets work, and it is the only way we can reach you about your account.

Ratings, reviews and anything else you post stay yours. By posting them you give Critic Shelf the licence it needs to store and display that content back to you and, depending on the visibility you choose when posting (Public or Followers only), to other people using the app.

Don't post anything that is illegal, harassing, impersonates someone else, or infringes someone else's rights. Mark a review as containing spoilers when it does — the composer has a toggle for exactly that.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Critic Shelf. Objectionable means anything illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or aimed at another person; abusive means using the service to target other people. Every review and every account can be reported from inside the app, and any account can be blocked. Reports go to a moderator; content that breaks these rules is removed, and the account behind it can be suspended or terminated without warning.

We may remove content, or suspend or terminate an account, that violates these terms. A review removed for that reason cannot be reposted by the same account for the same title — it stands as a moderation decision, not something to route around.

You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes your ratings, reviews, watchlist and follows along with it.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the service.

Critic Shelf is provided "as is". We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times — it is an actively developed, independently run app.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Critic Shelf after a change means you accept the updated terms.
