PLOT

Gok Cooks Chinese is a six-part Chinese cookery programme presented by Gok Wan. Over the course of the series he teaches home cooking of typical quick and healthy Chinese meals, often with the help of his father. The show aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom in 2012.

Joined by his father John, "Poppa Wan" the series explores Chinese home cooking and features healthy, quick meals devised by Gok himself. Gok guides us through the simple basics of Chinese cooking, from the 'holy trinity' of ingredients - garlic, ginger and spring onions - to the 'love box' of condiments. Gok and his father cook up some delicious Chinese food anyone can master, from wok to plate in five minutes, including show-stopping dragon scallops in burning oil sauce and a tofu dish which Gok declares is better than sex - or even shoes! Gok meets great characters and brilliant cooks, unlocking the secrets of delicious Chinese home cooking. From take away classics to superb Chinese Celebrity Feasts Gok will give you the confidence to cook amazing food. If he can do it, anyone can.
