Torn apart by war on their wedding day, two lovers are driven onto opposing spy paths—one into a Kuomintang secret agency, the other into a Communist guerrilla unit—where love, loyalty, and identity collide in a dangerous game of espionage.
Set primarily in Canton, China during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the story follows the affairs of Chinese Republican spies and their entanglements with underground triads and the Empire of Japan.
