A lavish royal drama that tells the incredible love story of King Harald and Queen Sonja, and how their love almost plunged Norway into a constitutional crisis.
For nine long years, Crown Prince Harald and the commoner Sonja Haraldsen fight for the right to marry, but the choice is not theirs to make. The constitution states that a prince cannot marry without the king’s permission. If Harald chooses a wife without royal blood, the Norwegian monarchy risks collapsing. Harald and Sonja stand together, defying the government, the press, and the Norwegian people – all for love.
