Ahmad Brilian Maulana Vitjayanto (Brian) is a writer and director from Jombang, East Java, Indonesia, and a Film and Television student at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta). In 2026, he was recognized as the institution’s 3rd Outstanding Student.
His works have been screened and recognized at both national and international film festivals. His documentary DJUM (2025) was a finalist at Festival Film Dokumenter 2025, a semifinalist at the Tianjin International Academic Film Festival in China, and received an award at the Golden FEMI Film Festival 2026 in Bulgaria. His fiction short film Apem Pak Sugeng (2025) won Third Prize at the Kara Short Film Competition and was selected as a finalist at Jatim Festa and the Semar Awards 2025.
Brian views cinema not only as an artistic practice but also as a medium for reflection and for strengthening the connection between people and the social realities around them.
