PLOT
The Haircut is a work extending Duane's interest in the uncanny way an unfolding conversation could be banal on the surface yet fraught with emotion. In the video, Duane recreated verbatim an experience she had with a man who flirted then rejected her. Here Duane uses an actress to embody herself, externalising and looking back at a scenario with a gaze that is only partially her own. - MutualArt
