The Kindest of Thieves

Jun 1, 1913
No ratings yet
Comedy

PLOT

Equally brilliant and sentimental, the thief-philosopher Józef Karczoch simply walks into an elegant villa at night—he doesn’t even need to break in—and finds the lady of the house in the arms of a handsome young man. At one point the thief is forced to make a hasty escape. He leaps out the window straight into the arms of the husband, who has just returned from a night of carousing and immediately suspects his wife of infidelity. The thief proposes a plan: he will go back inside; the wife will no doubt faint from the shock, the young man will flee through the same window, and the husband can then shoot him. The husband waits in vain, however—the thief has already warned the lovers. The film is currently lost.
